Active Membership
Active Membership for adults 18+ is granted to those who pass their probationary period and grant them the right to vote at company meetings and hold positions of office with the company. There is an activity requirement involved in maintaining Active Membership. Active Membership includes emergency responders, administrative, and social members.

Associate Membership
Associate Membership for adults 18+ grants you the privileges of responding on calls and assisting with company events without the activity requirement of Active Membership. Our Associate Membership cannot vote at company meetings or hold a position of office.

Junior Membership
The City of Lock Haven offers a Junior Program for children ages 14-17 begin to learn about the fire department and our mission. Our Junior Membership can begin training towards becoming a certified firefighter, learn valuable life skills, strengthening teamwork & leadership abilities, and build life long friendships. Our Junior Membership can also respond to select emergencies under strict supervision. Our Junior Membership is able to assist with company events.

JUNIORS MUST APPLY IN PERSON AND FILL OUT A SEPARATE APPLICATION!
The company meeting is on the second Wednesday of the month starting at 1900! You are welcomed to attend the meeting after your interview.
I joined Citizens Hose Company No. 5 in 2013. I moved to the area and wanted to continue to serve the community I was apart of. 13 years later I can confirm that this has been the best group of people. If we are not running calls we are doing something else constructive. This station serves it’s community in many capacities and honestly it’s lucky to have the dedicated members of this station.
I was a member of Citizens Hose back when I was in college, and they took me right back in when I moved back to the area in 2020. It’s been rewarding to be here for the training experience and the variety of calls we see on a day to day basis. We’re providing a service not only for the City of Lock Haven, but also for the people of Clinton, Lycoming and Centre County.
I joined the Citizens Hose Company No. 5 at 14 years old. The officers and membership welcomed me with open arms, helped me in any way they could, and continued to push me forward. I am now 21 years old, and within the last seven years, I have made countless brothers and sisters along the way. This fire company is a family. There’s no place like it. We are proud to serve the Lock Haven area, as well as the countless communities throughout Clinton, Centre, and Lycoming Counties.
